About Yuliya Galysheva

Kazakh mogul skier from Oskemen, Kazakhstan (nickname 'Yulka'), competing since March 2006 and a four-time Olympian (2010, 2018, 2022, 2026). Won bronze in moguls at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, Kazakhstan's first-ever Olympic medal in freestyle skiing. At the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships, won gold in moguls at Utah 2019 (the first world title for Kazakh moguls), silver in moguls at Almaty 2021, silver in dual moguls at Sierra Nevada 2017 (behind Perrine Laffont, ahead of Jaelin Kauf), and bronze in dual moguls at Kreischberg 2015. Also won two gold medals (moguls and dual moguls) at the 2011 Asian Winter Games. The moguls course 'Yuka G' at Almaty's Shymbulak resort is named in her honor. Competed at her fourth and final Olympics at Milano Cortina 2026 (Livigno: 14th moguls, 13th dual moguls), and officially announced her retirement from competitive skiing afterward, with the Games marking her last international start.

RETIRED: per FIS's own dedicated retirement-announcement article, the 2026 Olympic Winter Games (Livigno) marked her final competitive start, closing a nearly two-decade World Cup career (debut 2008-09 season per FIS article; Wikipedia dates her broader international debut to March 2006). Note: Wikipedia's introductory sentence says she won 'three medals' at Worlds, but its own structured medal-record table lists four (2019 gold moguls, 2021 silver moguls, 2017 silver dual moguls, 2015 bronze dual moguls) - used the table as the more reliable structured source. FIS official bio's Skis/Boots/Poles fields are all blank. FIS competitorid=104412.
