About Tristan Takats

Austrian ski cross racer who switched from alpine skiing to ski cross in late 2019 after a torn ACL in the Super-G at the Slovenian Championships ended his alpine career; three weeks after his European Cup ski cross debut he took his first podium, at Val Thorens. Finished 7th overall in the 2021-22 World Cup and competed at the 2022 Beijing Olympics (15th) and the 2023 World Championships in Bakuriani (13th), before claiming his first World Cup win at Val Thorens in December 2023. His 2025-26 Olympic-season campaign ended early after a crash in the Veysonnaz World Cup race on 23 January 2026 left him with a fractured vertebra and a knee injury, ruling him out of the Milano-Cortina Olympics. Races for USC Lilienfeld and is employed as an army sports soldier (Heeressportler).

2025-26 World Cup: 35th overall, 110 points (FIS official cup standings; season ended early due to injury). Career: 1 World Cup win (Val Thorens, Dec 2023); 7th overall in 2021-22 World Cup. 2022 Olympics (Beijing): 15th. Missed the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics after fracturing a vertebra in a Veysonnaz World Cup crash on 23 Jan 2026.
