About Tim Hronek
German ski cross racer who won his maiden World Cup race at Kopaonik, Serbia in February 2026 in chaotic fashion - Florian Wilmsmann crashed out of the big final just after the start, taking down Kevin Drury (in what proved to be the crash that ended Drury's career) and Hronek himself, while Reece Howden crossed first but was penalized with a yellow card for line deviation. Hronek was the only skier to have cleared the decisive gate cleanly and was awarded the win, which he dedicated to Drury. The previous day he had taken bronze in an all-German Val di Fassa podium alongside Wilmsmann and Cornel Renn. Competed at the 2018 and 2026 Winter Olympics. Grew up near Unterwossen, Bavaria, the son of a ski-instructor mother and a ski-club-trainer father; younger brother of alpine skier Veronique Hronek. Races for SV Unterwoessen.
Maiden World Cup win: Kopaonik, Serbia, 27 Feb 2026 (per FIS's own race recap). Val di Fassa bronze, 30 Jan 2026, part of an all-German podium sweep with Wilmsmann and Renn.
