About Tatum Monod

Canadian freeskier from Banff, Alberta, part of a skiing dynasty -- her grandfather, a Swiss mountain guide, founded Monod Sports in Banff in 1949, and her father raced on Canada's national ski team. The first woman to land a double backflip on skis, two-time Freeskier Magazine Skier of the Year, and Rossignol's first-ever signature female pro-model ski athlete.

Monod comes from a Banff skiing dynasty (grandfather founded Monod Sports in 1949; father raced on the national team) but didn't put on ski boots until age 12, preferring horse riding and fly fishing. She went on to become the first woman to land a double backflip on skis (crediting coaching/encouragement from the late JP Auclair), was named Freeskier Magazine's Skier of the Year twice (2014/15 Riders' Choice, 2016/17), won Best Female Performance at the Powder Awards (2017), and was inducted into the Bow Valley Sports Hall of Fame as a Pioneer of Skiing (2018). Film credits include Pretty Faces (2012), Level 1 Productions' Habit (2017), Jimmy Chin-directed The Line (2017), and Matchstick Productions' All In (2018). She rides her own Rossignol signature model, the Blackops Tatum 118, and has publicly discussed recovering from a traumatic knee injury suffered on an Alaska film shoot.

Sponsors: Rossignol (own signature ski model, the Blackops Tatum 118); Arc'teryx; Oakley; YETI; Red Bull.
