About Simon Rueland
Austrian World Cup alpine ski racer specializing in slalom, born 1997 and racing for SK Landeck-Tirol, resident in Mils. Made his World Cup debut on 22 January 2017 in Kitzbuehel. Won silver at the 2017 Junior World Championships and bronze in the team event in 2018. National-level winner of the Austrian Championship slalom and the Obdach 2 race during the 2021-22 season, and posted European Cup slalom victories at Oppdal and Norefjell in 2025. Continued competing on the World Cup slalom circuit through the 2025-26 season (Adelboden, Wengen, Kitzbuehel, Schladming, Kranjska Gora) and appears on the 1st and 2nd FIS points lists for the 2026-27 season.
FIS Code 54447. Junior Worlds: silver 2017, team bronze 2018. European Cup slalom wins: Oppdal and Norefjell, 2025. World Cup slalom starts through the 2025-26 season including Kranjska Gora (8 Mar 2026). Note: FIS's official biography status field currently reads 'Not active', which appears to be a stale/unupdated field, since FIS's own results and points-list data show him actively racing World Cup slalom through March 2026 and ranked on the 1st/2nd FIS points lists for the 2026-27 season - the active-competitor data is used here as the more current and authoritative source. Exact birthdate (day/month) reported as 15 May 1997 by secondary sources (the-sports.org) but FIS's own biography lists only the year (1997).
