About Simon Hillis
Canadian big-mountain skier born in Bali, Indonesia, who moved to Rossland, BC at age 3 and grew up skiing RED Mountain Resort's tree runs. Became RED's youngest-ever sponsored athlete at age 7. A TGR and Warren Miller regular known for deep-powder backcountry skiing across BC, Colorado, and Alaska.
Hillis was born in Bali, Indonesia (April 24, 2002) before moving to Rossland, BC at age 3; RED Mountain Resort's own athlete bio nicknames him 'Young Jedi' and credits local skier JR as a mentor, while a separate TGR interview names both his dad and Rossland local legend Dane Tudor as early influences.
