About Mikaela Shiffrin
American World Cup alpine ski racer widely regarded as the greatest technical skier in history, competing primarily in slalom and giant slalom while also racing super-G and downhill; born 13 March 1995, based in Edwards, Colorado. Made her World Cup debut in 2011 and has gone on to record 110 World Cup race wins - the most of any alpine skier in history, male or female, and the only skier to surpass 100 career wins (Ingemar Stenmark is next-best with 86). A six-time World Cup overall champion (record-tying sixth title won in the final race of the 2025-26 season, holding off a late-season challenge from Germany's Emma Aicher), nine-time World Cup slalom discipline champion, and eight-time World Championships gold medalist. Won Olympic slalom gold at the 2014 Sochi Games at age 18 (the youngest Olympic slalom champion in history at the time), added giant slalom gold and alpine combined silver at the 2018 PyeongChang Games, and won a third career Olympic gold in slalom at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games. Is the only skier, male or female, with World Cup wins in all seven FIS Alpine disciplines (slalom, giant slalom, super-G, downhill, alpine combined, parallel slalom and city event). Missed extended stretches of the 2024 and 2024-25 seasons through injury, including a serious knee/oblique-muscle crash at Killington in November 2024, before returning to full form.
FIS Code 6535237. Career: 110 World Cup wins (record for any skier, either gender) as of 25 March 2026; only skier past the 100-win milestone. Also 4 wins in 2024-25 and 9 wins in 2023-24. 6-time World Cup overall champion (record-tying 6th title, 2025-26, clinched in the season-finale race at Lillehammer/Are over Emma Aicher - see existing entry id 201). 9-time World Cup slalom discipline champion. 8-time World Championships gold medalist (4 in slalom), most decorated American alpine skier in World Championships history. 4 Olympic medals: 3 gold (slalom 2014, giant slalom 2018, slalom 2026) and 1 silver (alpine combined 2018). Youngest Olympic slalom gold medalist in history at the time of her 2014 win (18 years, 345 days). Only skier, male or female, with World Cup wins in all seven FIS Alpine disciplines. Verified via multiple 2026 sources (usskiandsnowboard.org, fis-ski.com, vaildaily.com). Only Lindsey Vonn and Marcel Hirscher have won more (20 each).
