About Melanie Meillard
Swiss World Cup alpine ski racer specializing in the technical events of slalom and giant slalom, born 23 September 1998 in Neuchatel; races for Heremencia (same club as her older brother, World Cup and Olympic slalom champion Loic Meillard). Made her World Cup debut in December 2015 at age 17. 2016 Youth Olympic Champion; claimed her first World Cup podium (3rd) in the Oslo City Event slalom on 1 January 2018 and was named the Longines Rising Ski Star that year as the World Cup's most successful female skier under 21. A season-ending injury just before the 2018 Winter Olympics and a difficult comeback attempt in 2019-2020 interrupted her career; she returned to top form in the 2020-21 season (9th, Levi slalom) and won her second Swiss national slalom title (after 2017) that same season. Competed at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, finishing 7th in the individual slalom and DNF in the team combined.
FIS Code 516528. Personal site: melaniemeillard.ch. Sister of Loic Meillard (id 62, World Champion/Olympic slalom champion); both race for Heremencia and both are Rossignol/Leki athletes. Career World Cup record includes 1 individual podium (3rd, Oslo City Event slalom, Jan 2018) per FIS podium summary; Swiss-Ski's own athlete detail page (swiss-ski.ch) is JS-rendered and returned no equipment data on fetch, so reliance is on FIS's manufacturer-updated field and Rossignol's own athlete listing.
Sponsors: Rossignol (skis, boots), Leki (poles) - per FIS official athlete biography (manufacturer-updated equipment fields); she is also listed on Rossignol's own official athlete roster page (rossignol.com/no-en/athlete?aid=mrf63n6jhw4s). Same ski/boot/pole brand family as her brother Loic Meillard (id 62), consistent with both racing for the Heremencia club.
