About Martina Peterlini

Italian World Cup alpine ski racer specializing in slalom, born 24 October 1997; races for Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Oro (the Italian police sports group, her main sponsor/backer since her junior years) and resides in Rovereto. Began skiing at age three under the guidance of her grandfather Lorenzo - known as 'Montgomery,' a longtime ski instructor first at Fondo Grande and then Serrada. Set aside giant slalom to focus on slalom after a series of injuries, most seriously a torn ACL, meniscus, and collateral ligament suffered in a 2021 European Cup slalom crash at Ahrntal, which has left her managing chronic right-knee pain since. Made her Europa Cup debut in December 2016 at Andalo; two Europa Cup victories in early 2020 (Hasliberg and Bad Wiessee) opened the door to the World Cup. Career-best World Cup result is 7th (March 2021, slalom, Jasna, Slovenia), with three World Cup top-10 finishes overall. Italy's top slalom skier in recent seasons; competed at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics (slalom, team combined).
