About Marion Thénault

Canadian aerial skier born 9 April 2000 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. A former competitive gymnast with 14 years of experience, she had never skied until being recruited by Freestyle Canada via RBC Training Ground in 2017 to try aerials. Made her Olympic debut at the 2022 Beijing Games, winning bronze in the inaugural mixed team aerials event alongside Miha Fontaine and Lewis Irving - Canada's first Olympic aerials medal in 20 years. Heading into the 2025-26 season she had 11 career World Cup podiums including 4 wins (Almaty 2021, Le Relais 2023, Ruka 2023, Almaty 2024), and has added further World Cup podiums since (2nd at Ruka and 2nd at Lac-Beauport in December 2025/January 2026). Her best World Championships result is 4th individually, at the 2023 Bakuriani Championships; also finished 5th individually and 5th in team at both the 2025 Engadin Worlds and the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics. Currently studying aerospace engineering and is known as an advocate for sustainability in snow sports.

FIS competitorid=229786, FIS Code 2534887. FIS's raw status field shows 'Not active' despite her extensive 2025-26 season results and 2026 Olympic starts (consistent with the recurring FIS-status-quirk pattern seen on several other current athletes in this database) - treated as a site display quirk, not an actual retirement. Equipment sponsor (Kaestle skis) confirmed directly via FIS's own manufacturer-updated Skis field, a stronger/more authoritative source than a brand's own team-roster webpage; no specific model given, so linked in Athlete gear to the existing generic Kaestle aerials ski product row. Turned-pro year (2019) is an estimate anchored to her earliest located FIS results (2019 season range) since she only began the sport in 2017.
