About Lukas Feurstein

Austrian World Cup speed skier specializing in super-G and giant slalom, raised in Mellau, Vorarlberg and racing for SV Mellau. Made his World Cup debut on 20 March 2021 after winning giant slalom gold and super-G silver at the 2021 Junior World Championships in Bansko. A tibial contusion (Dec 2021) and a medial ligament tear (Jan 2023, after his first World Cup top-10 in Cortina d'Ampezzo) each cost him the rest of a season, but he broke through with his first World Cup podium (3rd, Beaver Creek SG) in December 2024, then took his first World Cup win in the season-finale super-G on Sun Valley's new Challenger course in March 2025 - the first men's World Cup race held at the Idaho resort since 1977 and its first-ever speed event - holding off teammate Raphael Haaser by 0.19 seconds with Franjo von Allmen third.

Career WC record: 1 win (SG), 2 podiums (both SG: 3rd Beaver Creek Dec 2024, 1st Sun Valley Mar 2025). No podium yet in 2025-26 season through Feb 2026 (best results: 13th Wengen SG, 33rd Kitzbuehel SG, per FIS results table). Cousin Patrick Feurstein is also a World Cup giant slalom racer.

Sponsors: Equipment: Head (skis, boots), Leki (poles) - per FIS official athlete biography (manufacturer-updated field).
