About Loic Meillard
Swiss World Cup alpine ski racer from Neuchatel specializing in slalom and giant slalom (also races combined and super-G), racing for Heremencia. Made his World Cup debut in January 2015. Won World Championship slalom gold in 2025, becoming the first Swiss man to take the title in 75 years, adding to two bronze medals from the 2021 Worlds (parallel GS, combined). Became a triple Olympic medalist at the 2026 Milano Cortina Games - men's slalom champion (his first Olympic gold), team combined silver, and giant slalom bronze - one medal of each color across a single Olympics.
Meillard is the 2026 Olympic SLALOM champion, not giant slalom - the 2026 Olympic GS gold went to Lucas Pinheiro Braathen (Brazil), with Marco Odermatt taking silver and Meillard bronze in that event (per olympics.com/ESPN). Career WC record: 9 wins (6 GS, 2 SL, 1 PG), 37 podiums (17 GS, 15 SL, 3 SG, 1 AC, 1 PG) through the 2025-26 season (Wikipedia). Sister Melanie Meillard is also a World Cup alpine racer.
Sponsors: Equipment: Rossignol (skis, boots), Leki (poles) - per FIS official athlete biography (manufacturer-updated field).
