About Lena Kohler
German freeride skier who left alpine ski racing partly due to frustration with Germany's team setup, then discovered her passion for freeride during a post-high-school trip to Japan. Qualified for the FWT via the 2024 Challenger Region 1 series and had a standout 2025 rookie Pro Tour season with three podium finishes.
Kohler qualified for the FWT via the 2024 Challenger Region 1 series, making 2025 her rookie Pro Tour season, in which she notched three podium finishes - a genuinely strong debut. She's continued into the 2026 season (currently 9th overall through 2 stops), confirming she made the cut to return for a second season. Powder Magazine's own season coverage explicitly pairs her with fellow 2025 rookie Jenna Keller as riders who 'made the Cut and finished the year on a high note.' Additional context: she's a former alpine ski racing hopeful who left the sport partly due to frustration with Germany's team setup, then discovered her passion for freeride during a post-high-school trip to Japan.
