About Joshua Sturm

Austrian World Cup alpine ski racer specializing in slalom and giant slalom, racing for SC St. Leonhard. Born and raised in St. Leonhard im Pitztal; has been on Völkl equipment since childhood. Prominent in youth categories (medals at Junior World Championships and the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival in Sarajevo). World Cup debut in December 2021 at Val d'Isère; his progress in the senior ranks has been slowed by injuries, including a serious thigh injury (partial semimembranosus rupture) in September 2024.

0 World Cup points through the 2023-24 season opener; best World Cup result 10th, slalom, Levi, 17 Nov 2024. Missed the entire 2024-25 season start due to a thigh injury. Has been riding Völkl for 17 years per search-summarized brand messaging.

Sponsors: Völkl (skis), Marker (bindings), Dalbello (boots) - each confirmed via the brand's own official athlete page (voelkl.com, marker.net, dalbello.it); note this conflicts with FIS's official biography, which currently lists 'Skis: Atomic, Boots: Atomic' - FIS equipment fields are manufacturer-updated and can go stale for lower-profile athletes, and three independent brand-owned pages agreeing on Völkl/Marker/Dalbello was judged more reliable here
