About Johann Andre Forfang

Norwegian ski jumper from Tromso who, like his older brother Daniel Forfang, represents Tromso SK; he also works as a video producer alongside competing. Made his World Cup debut in December 2014 and won his first individual World Cup event on 12 March 2016 in Titisee-Neustadt. At the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics won individual normal hill silver and team gold (with Andreas Stjernen, Daniel-Andre Tande and Robert Johansson). Also won team gold at the 2016 Ski Flying World Championships. Was one of two Norwegian jumpers (with Marius Lindvik) formally charged with equipment manipulation at the 2025 Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim after suit-inspection protests from Austria, Poland and Slovenia; he was disqualified from the individual large hill event (having originally placed 4th) but retained his bronze medal from the team large hill event. Forfang accepted a three-month competition ban in August 2025 and returned for the 2025-26 World Cup season, which he finished 11th overall. At the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics, won bronze in the Super Team large hill event, while placing 9th individual normal hill and 12th individual large hill.

2025-26 World Cup: 11th overall, 622 points (FIS official cup standings). Career: 2018 Olympics - individual normal hill silver, team gold. 2016 Ski Flying World Champion (team). 6 individual WC wins, 24 individual podiums. 2025 Worlds (Trondheim) suit-manipulation case: DQ'd from individual large hill (had placed 4th); retained team large hill bronze; accepted a 3-month ban (Aug 2025) alongside Marius Lindvik, denying knowledge of the suit modifications. 2026 Olympics (Milano Cortina): BRONZE Super Team large hill; 9th individual normal hill; 12th individual large hill.

Skis per FIS's official athlete database (Skis: BWT).

Ski jumping race ski produced and supplied by BWT (Best Water Technology), an Austrian water-treatment company that states on its own corporate site: 'BWT is the official ski jumping producer and thus supplier of selected top ski jumping athletes' - i.e. BWT is the equipment brand itself (not merely a sponsor logo on another maker's ski), comparable to how Red Bull's Van Deer/Augment operates its own ski brand.
