About Joey Leonardo
American freeride skier who grew up in Edwards, Colorado, skiing at Arrowhead. Won the Junior World Championships in 2020, then qualified for the Freeride World Tour through the IFSA Challenger Series in 2025. Known for an aggressive, risk-embracing approach, he took 2nd place at the 2026 Val Thorens Pro on the way to a 9th-place overall finish in his rookie season.
Teton Gravity Research's own article is titled 'Joey Leonardo on His Rookie Freeride World Tour Season,' and FWT's bio confirms 2026 was his debut season, capped by a 2nd place at Val Thorens and a 9th-place overall finish that secured his spot for 2027. Additional context: he won the Junior World Championships back in 2020, a notable credential the plain 'Rookie' tag doesn't convey. Equipment: a targeted search found no source naming a current ski sponsor or brand for Leonardo, so no Products row has been created for him.
