More importantly, the flat claim dramatically undersells an extraordinary and very recent story: on October 15, 2025, Morrison became the first person ever to ski Mount Everest's Hornbein Couloir on the North Face via the treacherous 'Super Direct' route (only completed by 5 climbers before him, none since 1991), a 12,000-ft descent in 4 hours 5 minutes that National Geographic co-director Jimmy Chin called 'the skiing equivalent of free soloing.'
