About Jaclyn Paaso

American professional freeride skier ('Jackie'), born March 18, 1982, in Boston, now based in North Lake Tahoe, California with a home mountain of Squaw Valley (Palisades Tahoe). A former 13-year competitive mogul skier turned freeride standout: first woman in 11 years to win the Sickbird Award (2008), Squaw Valley Tram Face champion (2010), and FWT Vice-World Champion (2016). Co-founder of SAFE AS Clinics, women's avalanche-safety courses.

One of the most decorated American freeriders of the last two decades. Raced moguls for 13 years on the Sunday River (Maine) freestyle team before entering a Freeskiing World Tour event on a friend's suggestion, winning it, and becoming the first woman in 11 years - and only the second ever - to win the Sickbird Award at Snowbird, in 2008. Won the Tram Face event at Squaw Valley in 2010, one of the first times a women's freeride run topped the combined leaderboard, competed 11 years on the Freeride World Tour, and was FWT Vice-World Champion in 2016. Also a Verbier Xtreme champion, and received a 2019 FWT injury wildcard after a crash at the 2017 Verbier Xtreme. Co-founded SAFE AS Clinics with Elyse Saugstad, Ingrid Backstrom and Michelle Parker, offering avalanche-safety courses for women. A Scott Sports international team athlete since January 2012, with a Rove helmet, Fix goggles, Octave sunglasses and Team Issue poles, and also sponsored by Kaestle (skis), Dalbello (boots), Helly Hansen (apparel) and Backcountry.com.

Sponsors: Scott Sports (international team since 2012); Kaestle (skis); Dalbello (boots); Helly Hansen (apparel); Backcountry.com; Squaw Valley / Palisades Tahoe.
