About Ida Lien
Norwegian biathlete born in Drammen, raised in Simonstranda - also the hometown of all-time Winter Olympics medal leader Ole Einar Bjørndalen. World Champion in the women's relay in 2021, running the third leg to help secure gold alongside Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (also in this database), Tiril Eckhoff, and Marte Olsbu Røiseland. Also sponsored by KLINGER Westad. Withdrew from the Geilo season-opening races in November 2025 due to a back injury and did not start the 2025-26 World Cup season.
A WebSearch AI summary gave her birthdate as '5 April 1997', which conflicts with Fischer's own official athlete page (directly fetched: 'March 5, 1997'). The directly-verified 5 March 1997 date is used; the AI-summary date was discarded as uncorroborated - consistent with similar date discrepancies caught this session for Dorothea Wierer and Michela Carrara.
Sponsors: Fischer (skis, boots) - confirmed via Fischer's own official athlete page, which lists a full Equipment section: Speedmax 100He Skate Plus 610/61K skis and Speedmax 9 Skate RL BOA boots.
