About Henrik von Appen

Chilean downhill/super-G racer from Santiago and the first Chilean skier (male or female) to score World Cup points, achieving that milestone in November 2022. Competed for Chile at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics across all five alpine disciplines, and served as Chile's opening-ceremony flag bearer at both PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022 (the latter alongside Dominique Ohaco). Won super-G and downhill at Corralco during the 2022-23 season. His cousins Kai Horwitz (alpine skiing) and Nadja Horwitz (sailing) are also Chilean Olympians.

FIS's own biography lists him as married, a student, and resident in Santiago, and shows him fluent in Spanish, German and English. Competed at Winter Olympics in all five alpine events (2014, 2018) before narrowing focus to downhill/super-G in recent seasons.

Sponsors: Equipment: Head (skis and boots) - per FIS official athlete biography (manufacturer-updated field).
