About Fynn Powell
New Zealand freeride skier from Taupo, one of the freeriding Powell brothers (with Lach Powell). Broke through with back-to-back Challenger Series wins at the final two stops to finish 3rd overall and qualify for the 2026 Freeride World Tour. In his rookie season, made history at the YETI Xtreme Verbier by landing the first-ever double backflip on the iconic Bec des Rosses face, finishing 12th overall.
NZ Herald's coverage and FWT's own bio both explicitly list Powell as a 2026 FWT rookie. The bare label significantly undersells his season: he landed the first-ever double backflip on the Bec des Rosses at the YETI Xtreme Verbier - a landmark trick in FWT history - which the plain 'rookie' tag doesn't convey at all. Equipment: a targeted search found only a historical junior-career sponsorship from Mitre 10 Mega (a New Zealand hardware/DIY retail chain, not a ski manufacturer); no source names his current ski brand or model, so no Products row has been created for him.
