About Francesco De Fabiani
Italian cross-country skier (C.S. Esercito), from Aosta, and a distance competitor on the World Cup since 2014 (11 seasons) with 10 individual podiums (198 starts: 1 win) plus 6 team podiums (2 wins) from 18 team starts. Represented Italy at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Won 2 U23 discipline titles (2015, 2016) and World Championship team sprint bronze (2019) and silver (2023), both alongside Pellegrino. His sole individual World Cup win came in the 15km classical at Lahti (March 2015). FIS's own biography lists his status as 'Retired,' though FIS results show him still competing in marathon/popular-race and World Cup mass-start events as recently as early 2026.
World Cup record through 2025-26 season: 1 individual win, 10 individual podiums (198 starts); 2 team wins, 6 team podiums (18 starts). 2 U23 discipline titles (2015, 2016). World Championships: team sprint bronze (2019), team sprint silver (2023). FIS lists status as 'Retired,' yet shows him competing as recently as early 2026 - flagging this inconsistency rather than resolving it.
