About Felix Monsen
Swedish World Cup alpine ski racer specializing in downhill, super-G and alpine combined, racing for Are SLK. Made his World Cup debut 8 March 2015 and has recorded two World Cup top-10s: 10th in the Kitzbuehel super-G (24 Jan 2025) and 10th in the Kitzbuehel downhill (24 Jan 2026). Long known as alpine skiing's 'lonely Swede' as the only Swedish World Cup speed skier; after the Swedish Ski Federation cut speed-discipline funding in 2026, he built an independent, self-funded program and will train with the Austrian Ski Team's speed group for 2026/27.
Runs the 'Speed Swedes' mentorship program for young Swedish speed skiers. One of four brothers, all ski racers; father Johan was an aspirant for Ski Team Sweden Alpine. Hired Austrian coach Michi Ortner in 2026 and will train alongside Austria's elite speed group (Kriechmayr, Babinsky, Hemetsberger) for 2026/27 after Sweden cut his funding.
