About Federica Brignone

Italian World Cup alpine ski racer and one of the most decorated skiers of her generation, competing across giant slalom, super-G, downhill, combined and slalom; born 14 July 1990 in Milan and raised in La Salle, Aosta Valley, the daughter of former World Cup slalom racer Maria Rosa Quario. Made her World Cup debut in December 2007 at age 17. Won the World Cup overall title in the 2019-20 season, becoming the first Italian woman to do so, adding the giant slalom and combined discipline globes the same season. Won a second overall title in the 2024-25 season - her best-ever season with 10 race wins (5 GS, 3 SG, 2 DH) - along with the downhill and giant slalom discipline globes. Has won 37 World Cup races (17 GS, 13 SG, 5 combined, 2 DH) and 85 podiums across a 19-season career, plus 5 Olympic medals and 5 World Championship medals, including gold in giant slalom at the 2025 World Championships. In April 2025 she suffered a serious crash at the Italian championships in Moena, fracturing her calf and tibial plateau and tearing her left ACL, sidelining her for most of the 2025-26 season. She returned to World Cup racing in January 2026 and, at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on home snow, won gold in both giant slalom and super-G - becoming the first Italian alpine skier since Alberto Tomba (1988) to win two golds at a single Olympics.

FIS Code 297601. Career: 37 World Cup wins (17 GS, 13 SG, 5 combined, 2 DH), 85 podiums (42 GS, 27 SG, 10 DH, 6 combined). 2 overall World Cup titles (2019-20 and 2024-25 seasons - Wikipedia labels these '2020' and '2025' by the convention of the season's ending year); 5 discipline titles (GS 2019-20 & 2024-25, combined 2019-20, SG 2021-22, DH 2024-25). The 2024-25 season was her best ever. However, the hint's '2 wins 2025-26' does not match verified data: after an April 2025 crash (fractured calf/tibial plateau, torn left ACL) she missed most of the 2025-26 season, returning to World Cup racing only in January 2026. 8th, super-G, Soldeu, 1 March 2026). She did win 2 gold medals - giant slalom and super-G - at the February 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, which are almost certainly what the hint's '2 wins' actually refers to; Olympic golds are tracked separately from World Cup race wins in this record. 5 Olympic medals total (2 gold, 2026 GS/SG; earlier silver/bronze from 2018 and 2022), 5 World Championship medals (2 gold, including GS at 2025 Worlds).
