About Emily Childs

Canadian professional big-mountain skier raised at Troll Resort, a tiny ski hill in northern British Columbia founded by her Norwegian-immigrant grandfather. Co-founder of The Blondes, one of the first all-female backcountry ski crews, alongside fellow database athlete Tonje Kvivik. A Matchstick Productions and Blank Collective Films athlete now based in Squamish, BC, where she also works as a commercial helicopter pilot.

Blank Collective Films' own site credits her in 'Feel Real' (2022) alongside fellow database athletes Tonje Kvivik, Jess Hotter, and Cody Townsend. She co-founded The Blondes, one of the first all-female backcountry ski crews, with Janelle Yip and fellow database athlete Tonje Kvivik after moving to Revelstoke, BC -- their self-shot films won the People's Choice Award at the Whistler Intersection Film Festival, catching Matchstick's attention. Raised at Troll Resort, a small northern BC hill founded by her Norwegian-immigrant grandfather and later run by her mother after his passing; she and her siblings skied instead of taking the 45-minute school bus on powder days. Now based in Squamish, BC, and a commercial helicopter pilot since earning her license in 2019, flying for a local company in the off-season. Equipment: The North Face (apparel) and Smith Optics confirmed via her official athlete pages -- Smith specifically lists her personal gear picks as the Squad MAG goggle and Method Pro Mips helmet.

Sponsors: The North Face (apparel); Smith Optics (goggles, helmets); Matchstick Productions and Blank Collective Films (athlete/film affiliations).
