About Breezy Johnson

American World Cup alpine ski racer specializing in downhill and super-G, born Breanna Noble Johnson on 19 January 1996 in Jackson, Wyoming, and raised in Victor, Idaho, where her father taught her to ski at age 3 on Teton Pass. Attended Western Washington University (English degree). Made her World Cup debut in December 2015 and finished 7th in downhill at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics at age 22. Her career has been repeatedly interrupted by serious injuries (tibial plateau fracture 2017, partial ACL tear 2018, PCL/MCL tear 2019, a season-ending injury that forced withdrawal from the Beijing 2022 Olympics despite qualifying). Returned to win gold in downhill and team combined at the 2025 World Championships, then converted that world title into Olympic downhill gold at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics (Olimpia delle Tofane, Cortina d'Ampezzo, time 1:36.10) - the United States' first medal of the Games and only the second American gold in the event after Lindsey Vonn in 2010. Finished 2nd to Laura Pirovano in the 2025-26 Downhill Crystal Globe race.

FIS Code 6535455. 2025 World Championships: gold, downhill; gold, team combined. 2026 Olympics (Cortina): gold, downhill (1:36.10) - USA's first medal of the Games, 2nd-ever American women's downhill Olympic gold after Lindsey Vonn (2010). 2025-26 World Cup: 2nd in Downhill Crystal Globe standings behind Laura Pirovano.
