About Aleksander Aamodt Kilde

Norwegian World Cup alpine racer from Baerum, competing for Lommedalens IL, and one of the most decorated speed skiers of his generation: 2019-20 overall World Cup champion, four discipline titles (2x super-G, 2x downhill), 21 World Cup wins and 48 podiums, plus an Olympic super-G bronze and a surprise alpine-combined silver at Beijing 2022. His career was derailed by a severe crash in the Jan 2024 Wengen downhill (nerve damage and a deep cut to his right calf, two torn shoulder ligaments), compounded by a subsequent shoulder infection/sepsis scare that forced him to sit out the entire 2024-25 season. He had his shoulder surgically repaired in Feb 2025 using a hamstring-muscle graft, returned to World Cup competition in the 2025-26 season (including a super-G comeback at Copper Mountain), and qualified for the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics, but withdrew on 3 Feb 2026 due to persistent back issues stemming from the 2024 crash. He is engaged to fellow overall World Cup champion Mikaela Shiffrin (engagement announced April 2024).

FIS's own biography currently shows status 'Active (injured, 01-02-2026)', reflecting the back issues that surfaced right after his Crans-Montana downhill return (finished 42nd, 1 Feb 2026) and led to his Olympic withdrawal two days later.

Sponsors: Atomic (skis and boots), Leki (poles) - per FIS official athlete biography (manufacturer-updated field) and Atomic's own official athlete page. Oakley (goggles/helmet) - per Oakley's own product page for his signature-series gear. Level (gloves - signature 'SQ CF Glove' Pro Model, per Level's own product page). BOSS/HUGO BOSS (off-slope lifestyle apparel brand ambassador since Nov 2023, per HUGO BOSS press release - not competition race gear).
