About Alban Elezi Cannaferina
French alpine ski racer born in Lyon to two former wrestlers (father Adnan Elezi, an Albanian-Macedonian Yugoslav freestyle wrestler and 1983 Mediterranean Games medalist; mother Agnes Canna-Ferina, a 1993 European wrestling championships bronze medalist). Started out with Chamrousse Ski Club before obtaining a license with CS Courchevel for his U18 entry onto the FIS circuit. Became a regular in World Cup competition from the 2025-26 season across downhill, super-G and giant slalom, and scored his first World Cup podium - a 3rd place in the Schladming giant slalom on 27 Jan 2026 - at his 60th World Cup start.
FIS's own biography currently lists his club as 'Club des Sports Courchevel' with residence Chamrousse; French Wikipedia clarifies this is a deliberate club-license switch (from his original Chamrousse Ski Club) made specifically to enter the FIS/U18 circuit under CS Courchevel, not a data inconsistency.
Sponsors: Rossignol (skis) - per FIS official athlete biography (manufacturer-updated field); boots/poles not listed by FIS as of writing.
